I may have to go back to Windows 7 Pro but I don't want be stuck missing the free upgrade. Would someone in support be able to log into my computer in safe mode with networking. The times that I have been able to open up in debugging mode and use Windows update (it doesn't work in safe mode with networking) I tries to update the WDDM 1.1 and 1.3 and it lists the Intel HD Graphics 4000. I tried to get boot using the debugging mode but it will not load. It went into repair mode then gave options for troubleshooting. From there I updated the MS basic display adapter and it installed 153339.

The only way to get past the blank screen is to go into safe mode. I ended with a black screen and nothing further - had to force power off.

I am still experimenting with the stripped down desktop as you described. Ive just attempted to install Intel HD 4000 driver 15.31. I had already gone to the Gigabyte site and downloaded and installed the most recent drivers for the motherboard.
